BACKGROUND

Omnilink is a Location Based Services (LBS) company which provides the real-time location of people and valuable assets. Omnilink has established itself as a leader in the LBS space by leveraging a combination of GPS, cellular, RFID, and situation-specific sensors to offer a robust software-centric, device-agnostic, carrier-agnostic solutions platform. The company approached Grotech Ventures to find an investment partner with deep wireless and GPS industry expertise, as well as hands-on operating experience.

GROTECH VENTURES’ ROLE 

Grotech Ventures was Omnilink’s first institutional investor in 2006. The Grotech Ventures team has worked side-by-side with management in every aspect of company building, including recruiting senior executives and critical engineering talent, building a world-class board of advisors and board of directors, refining and helping to implement a go-to-market and pricing strategy, introducing key service providers, raising incremental debt & equity financing, and assisting with important negotiations. Grotech Ventures also worked closely with the Company during the early months to refine the product offering based on customer feedback and competitive analysis.

DEVELOPMENTS

Omnilink has established itself as the de-facto LBS standard in the judicial market and has secured numerous partnerships with the largest service providers, wireless carriers, and hardware vendors. Omnilink’s commercial solutions are experiencing rapid growth, providing the real-time location of people and assets when their safety and security are of paramount importance, in sectors including healthcare, asset tracking, loss prevention, covert surveillance, and lone worker safety.
